Want to take the jet ski for a run, go waterskiing or take the family out in the boat?  Latrobe Valley provides year round access to lakes and waterways making it handy as a day trip or an easy weekend getaway.

A surface area spanning nearly 300ha makes it ideal for power boating, waterskiing, jet skiing, sail boarding and sailing.  It is also a great place for swimming, family picnics and walking.

FACILITIES: Toilets, picnic tables and two boat ramps, access is via John Field Drive, Newborough. 

CAMPING: Non-powered and powered camp sites are available at Lake Narracan Caravan Park.  Facilities include toilet and shower amenities, BBQs and laundry. For bookings phone (03) 5127 8724.

This is a lovely place for fishing, walking, or a picnic. Tranquil bushland in the township of Churchill with a walking track around the lake. Fish off one of the five fishing platforms which are located around the lake and stocked with trout each school holidays. A popular spot with anglers, birdwatchers and dog walkers. 

At the south end of the lake, are the remains of an original homestead, known as Hare's Farmhouse with an adjacent Koori Garden with plants that the local Gunaikurnai clan have used for thousands of years. 

FACILITIES: Toilets, BBQs, gazebos, water fountain and playground.

Enjoy a variety of recreational water activities all year at Hazelwood Pondage. Popular activities include sailing, boating, waterskiing, yachting, canoeing and swimming. Located 5 minutes out of Churchill.  Hazelwood Pondage is the home of the Latrobe Valley Yacht Club with an annual program of events November through to May, you will see sail boats out on the Pondage.  A perfect setting for a family picnic or BBQ.

FACILITIES: BBQ, picnic tables, playground, boat ramp and toilets. 

CAMPING: Non-powered sites are available at Hazelwood Pondage Caravan Park.  For bookings phone (03) 5163 1566, leave a message and the caretaker will return your call shortly.

RESTRICTIONS: Throughout the year the pondage may have boating or fishing restrictions in place or be closed to the public, please click here for the latest information.
