THINGS TO SEE AND DO!
Latrobe Valley and the greater Central and West Gippsland region are home to many wonderful places to visit and enjoy! There are a host of unique and amazing experiences to be had!
Take time out to smell the roses and let you mind relax as you wander through our beautiful parks and gardens! Revive your senses in spectacular gardens like the world renowned Morwell Rose Garden, or as you experience one of nature’s own beautiful parks, like the Tarra Bulga National Park, a pocket of remnant rain forest in the steep Strzlecki Ranges.
Coast on down to one of Australia’s unspoilt beaches for some summer fun! Walk on squeaky white sands as you let your mind wander along a coastline that stretches on forever, city life a distant memory behind the steady sound of the waves.
Get hooked on fishing in the many rivers and lakes! Brown trout, blackfish, redfin, rainbow trout, mulloway, tupong and carp are just some of the fish you might catch. Or you might look into the same rivers for gemstones!
Laugh with the kookaburras, and listen for the calls of the many different birds inhabiting our forests and grasslands!
Picture yourself at one of the many art galleries dotted around Gippsland, see many different styles of art from sculpture and glassware to fabric and blacksmithing.
Wine and dine in one of Gippsland’s many specialty restaurants or Vineyards. Fine food and wine and other local produce can be sampled at one of the many fresh food festivals held in Gippsland every year, or at one of the many award winning wineries, breweries and restaurants.
Have a ball in the snow! Ski, snowboard or toboggan down the slopes of Mt Baw Baw, test your endurance at cross country when you visit Mount St Gwinear.
Relax in the wide open spaces or for the more adventurous, try skydiving or 4WDriving through the high country.
Enjoy the character and charm of our country towns and hospitality!
There’s so much to see and do in Gippsland!
