LAKE NARRACAN

Popular water activities destination. With a surface area spanning nearly 300ha, Lake is popular for bushwalking and picnics together with sailing, jet skiing, water skiing, power boating and sail boarding. There are 2 boat ramps at Lake. Narracan Narracan

Boat Passes:

A boating pass will need to be obtained during the following times:

· All weekends and public holidays

Passes can be purchased from the Lake Narracan Caravan and Camping ground located directly opposite the park. Contact the manager on (03) 5127 8724. Passes can be pre-booked between 2-5pm the day prior from the Lake Narracan Caravan and Camping Ground on (03) 5127 8724.

The lake also attracts some 90 species of birds including the Yellow-tufted Honeyeater. Access is via John Field Drive, Newborough.

HAZELWOOD PONDAGE

Yinnar Road, Via Churchill. Follow signposts (C456) from M1 Freeway.

Enjoy a variety of water activities including sailing, powerboats, yachting and canoeing with warm water all year round. The waters of Hazelwood Pondage remain a minimum of 22 degrees at all times. Hazelwood Pondage is host to the Open Water Swimming Championships and the Latrobe City Sauna Sail, a sailing regatta annually in June.

A feature of the lake is sailing for the disabled with access to sailing dinghies and wheelchair access. Facilities include BBQ’s, children’s playground, toilets, picnic area and a caravan and camping park.

There are no fees associated with boat access to Hazelwood Pondage.

OUTDOOR SWIMMING POOLS

Latrobe’s outdoor pools in Moe, Yallourn North and Traralgon are open each summer for safe, supervised fun! Valley

The Latrobe Valley Outdoor Pools are accessible during each summer from 1st December until Labour day weekend in March.

Each of the pools offer swimming facilities that cater for a range of swimming abilities and age groups. The pools also offer plenty of shady surroundings to keep out of the sun during the middle of the day.
